Our library is a student-centred facility designed to play a key role in the intellectual, educational and cultural life of the school. Students, on completing their years at Riwaka school, will have developed basic competencies, skills and positive attitudes to enable their continuing development as lifelong learners. This includes:
The school has purchased a "pod" of laptops that will be used in our library to complement students' information-gathering and reviewing. The library is currently being networked to enable students to use the library computers for searching and retrieving information. The library also houses a video tape recorder and large-screen TV.

Sharing books we have enjoyed. Each class visits the library at least once a week as part of their literacy programme. |
We recently ran two very successful book evenings that resulted in about 40 books being donated by school families. Sally Robertson (on our right) works in our library each morning, processing books and maintaining the beautiful environment that our students enjoy.
